California-based Mayfield Robotics first unveiled its adorable Kuri robot earlier this year at CES. The startup, backed by Bosch, has made some tremendous progress on bringing its home robot to life, including the ability to automatically recharge.
Fresh out of the robot shop is Kuri’s ability to charge itself. This is no doubt an important feature, especially for a mobile home robot spending juice throughout the day. Like many robot vacuums on the market, Kuri is able to automatically roll home when he needs to rejuice. No pesky cables either; the robot just “clicks” to recharge.
Mayfield Robotics sends occasional Kuri updates (you can subscribe here), and the latest newsletter includes an exclusive look into the new recharging feature. Here’s the clip.
Kuri is available for pre-order at $699 and is slated for a second-wave release next Spring. If you already pre-ordered back in January, you can expect Kuri on your doorstep this December.
