This plucky little robot arm draws with pen on paper whatever you draw on screen. Line-us, now on Kickstarter, is essentially a USB-powered tabletop drawing machine that connects to your iOS or Android device and draws anything you do in real time. If someone you know has the Line-us app, you can send or receive drawings over the Internet via Wi-Fi.
The robot features a simple and sleek design, no larger than your hand. Using a microcontroller and three servos, Line-us can translate your digital drawings to physical sketches. The crack team of technologists and designers behind Line-us boast that it isn’t a plotter or printer — it’s a “draw-er.”
Line-us won’t sketch you the weather outlook, but heck, it’s cute and has character. You can open Line-us up and connect it to a Raspberry Pi for coding. Give it a watercolor brush and Line-us will even paint. The possibilities are only limited to the second dimension!
The adorable tabletop bot is raising funds on Kickstarter. Luckily, it’s surpassed the initial campaign goal, but unfortunately, the team has limited supply to only 1,000 units despite the massive interest. Until the first batch ships to backers in October, you can sign up to receive updates when new Line-us units are hot off the press.
