If being able to command your floor-cleaning robot through an app wasn’t enough, Neato is ready to spoil you with another set of features. Neato’s Botvac Connected vacuum got Alexa integration this week, allowing you to control the robotic hoover by voice.
Alexa, the voice program connected by Amazon Echo, will start with very simple phrases. Commands currently range from “Alexa, ask Neato to start cleaning” to “Alexa, ask Neato to pause cleaning”. While the functionality appears basic, it’s adequate for tasks most users want to be completed.
In support of the new Amazon Echo integration, Neato is offering an Echo Dot with the Botvac Connected vacuum for free. The deal lasts from Black Friday until December 23rd, perfect for a personal Christmas present to lessen house work.
Of course, if you prefer not to talk, Neato is still keeping its app control integrated with the Botvac Connected, which allows for control of your vacuum with ease. The app enables control of the robot’s cleaning pattern; things like stop and start. It also offers a visual on features like battery life.
“Neato’s innovation is a huge leap forward for the smart home. Alexa-enabled Botvac Connected advances Neato’s vision of SmartLife™ —where using the latest technology to make your life easier is the clear path to smart living,” said Giacomo Marini, CEO of Neato Robotics.
